Earwax (known in the hearing healthcare profession as cerumen) is produced by the ear canal to protect it from bacteria, dirt and dust. Sometimes, through over-production or unsuccessful attempts to self-remove it, earwax can build up, preventing sound from traveling clearly to the eardrum. Here are a few symptoms that can point to excessive earwax:
- Difficulty hearing
- Feeling dizzy
- Pain inside the ear
- Stopped-up feeling in the ear
- Ringing in the ear
If any of the above apply to you, give us a call. We have the training and equipment to remove earwax thoroughly and safely.
